Share memories of James

The sermon I heard this morning reminded me of Uncle Jim. There are two main rules in our faith: Love God and Love Your Neighbor Be compassionate and kind. Hold no resentment and hate. Relationships are not transactional. You don’t have to pay or be a certain person to get love. We are loved. Jim showed up for his family and neighbors. He also brought joy to our time together. It made him magnetic. We couldn’t resist spending time with him. He was like an older brother to me, being only eight years older. He taught me things, listened to me, and visited and supported me through my life changes. We shared the memories of childhood Christmas times, Easters, and Sunday dinners together. He knew me and loved me anyways. Don’t we all need that? Kindness and faithful love pursue me all the days of my life. - Psalm of David Rest in Peace, Uncle Jim. Love, Mary Beth

Unfortunately I did not know my second cousin. I came across his obituary and could not believe the family resemblance. Jim’s grandfather, Nicholas was my grandpa’s brother….Joseph H. Meylor.Years ago I communicated with Barbara Jenkins about genealogy and have the research she did.I guess the clan was so huge that one only got to know first cousins. My sympathy to the family.

Our youngest son married Jim's granddaughter Maddie on the Meylor Family Farm. We had the privilege of meeting Jim only a few times but could tell what a great man he was in those meetings. I was lucky enough to get to play a few games of euchre and talk about some of the old cars we shared a love of. We were also able to take a ride in his old red "Caddy". Jim enjoy the ride and reuniting with Mary. May God hold the Meylor Family in the palm of his hand during this difficult time. Brian and Lori Horky

I have known the Meylor s for a life time. We were all neighbors. I think most of us had a crush on Jim and Tom before they had girlfriends. Barney was already married and a neighbor. I was there when Jim and the love of his life Mary got married. As we all know Jim and Mary lived on the farm and raised there kids there. I drove by the farm coming and going every weekend when I went off to school. Honked Everytime and got waves if they were outside usually heading to or from the barn. I had moved away before the kids were born so never got a chance to meet any of them . Knew about them from Mom and Dad. They all knew Dad Kenny. My heart goes out to the families. Our Deepest Sympathy. God has another Angel.. Rest In Heaven Jim. United with your family.
