Obituary
Leslie Lloyd "Les" Andrews, 81, of Darlington, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
Born on April 6, 1945, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Les was the son of Willard Vance Andrews and Helen Eileen (Vivian) Andrews. He was raised in Lafayette County and graduated from Darlington High School with the Class of 1963.
On November 6, 1965, Les married the love of his life, Judith Roberts, at Lamont United Methodist Church. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and quiet devotion to one another.
Les was known for his strong work ethic throughout his life. He hauled milk early in his career and later worked at Darlington Milling Company, the Darlington Lumber Yard, and the Wiota Lumber Yard. After retirement, he continued doing what he loved by helping his daughter and son-in-law, Tim and Kim McComish, on their farm. Les also fulfilled a lifelong dream by purchasing his family's farm, where he enjoyed being a small hobby farmer until he sold the property and moved closer to Tim and Kim.
Though he was a quiet man who never sought the spotlight, those who knew Les understood the kindness and generosity that filled his heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return, and his actions spoke far louder than words ever could.
Les had a lifelong love of antique tractors, especially his beloved Case tractors. He was an active member of the Pecatonica Antique Club and looked forward to attending antique tractor shows whenever he could.
Les was also a gifted woodworker whose craftsmanship was admired by family and friends alike. He took great pride in creating beautiful, handcrafted pieces that will continue to be treasured for generations. His projects included custom cabinets, clocks, shelves, toy boxes, hope chests, and countless other items, each made with care, precision, and love. Through his woodworking, Les left behind lasting reminders of his talent, generosity, and the joy he found in creating something meaningful for those he loved.
Les is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Judith Andrews; his daughter, Kimberly (Tim) McComish of rural Shullsburg; his son, Thad (Melinda) Andrews of Edgerton, Wisconsin; his cherished grandchildren, Joseph (Amber) McComish, Erica (Brock) Sauer, Pedro McComish, Jose McComish, and Trevor Andrews; his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Killian, and Meara McComish, and Brooke and Jax Sauer; his siblings, Keith (Becky) Andrews, Marian (Edwin) Stanton, Merlin (Eloise) Andrews, Nancy (Joe) Herbst, and June (David) Hoppenjon; and his sisters-in-law, Bev, Carla, Shirley, and Lynn Andrews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gerald, Neil, Donald, and his twin brother, Lester Andrews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Pleasant View Primitive Methodist Church (12987 Pleasant View Road, Belmont, Wisconsin), with Pastor Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
