VAIL TRAIL
Silently I sit in the morning sun.
Feeling the heat from its awesome glow.
Watching the stream pass me by.
With it’s even but lively glow.
The sounds that such an existence produce.
Grow gentle in my mind.
Allowing me to dream.
Of the life I left behind.
As the waters pass me by.
To a destination that is unknown.
I feel my life is much the same.
As I am perched here all alone.
Day by day. I search for truth.
As to what life should really be.
I’d rather it be a droplet of water.
Than a branch molded to a tree.
For just like me I know the waters.
Have their ups and downs.
But a lovely branch. Depends on its roots.
Until it dies and rest on the ground.
