Rosette (Rosie) Valerie King, 87 years old, died unexpectedly and was welcomed into the eternal garden of life on December 14, 2015. She was born to Stephen and Laura (Taschek) Zenz on November 13, 1928 in Darlington, WI. Rosie was married to her soul mate, LeRoy King on October 2, 1948 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington, WI by Father Anthony Young. Together for 55 years, they built a beautiful life, family and home in Willow Springs Township.With a kind heart, Rosie faithfully guided and cared for family and friends with a listening ear and loving touch. She truly wanted nothing but health and happiness for those she loved. She was a creative and talented woman who enjoyed baking and cooking, dancing, gardening, reading, writing, and enjoying card club. A woman of faith, she provided foundation for her family. Throughout her life she provided support to family, neighbors and friends through happy and difficult times. She also served her community through local organizations including; Homemakers Club, the Catholic Daughters, and Country Club Women's Auxiliary.Rosie is survived by her children:Marlene (Roger) Johnson - Mineral Point, WISheila (Roy) Berrey - Lyndon Station, WIKevin (Jeanette) King - Mineral Point, WIBetsy (Larry) Kluesner - Monroe, WIKristine "Tina" (Pete) White - Mineral Point, WITheir thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her sisterElizabeth Hayes of Jonesboro, AZ; sister-in-law Grace King of Mineral Point, WI; sister-in-law Dorella Zenz of Grants, NM.Rosie is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband LeRoy, brother Walter Zenz; and two sisters Laura Atkinson and Ella Gerst and her grandson Bradley Johnson.Visitation will be held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 4-8 pm; and from 10:00 to 10:45 am Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the church.Funeral will also be held at Holy Rosary Church at 11 am Saturday, December 19 with Rev. John Bosco Pudhota officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Rosie's favorite charities.Rosie will be truly missed. Her family and friends are comforted, knowing she has joined her true love.Farewell Mama Rosie, until we meet again.The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Our Deepest Heartfelt Sympathy to you All! I always remember Rosie with a smile. I remember if she had something to say she would say it but she was always kind hearted about it. Every time I think of everyone at home I picture them all a certain way. I always picture Rosie with that smile it never changes. God took a special angel for a special reason. Now she's with her other loved ones and watching over the loved ones she left on earth. Rosie you are sadly missed and deeply love. Until we meet again. 💜

Rosie King and her family will always share a special place in my heart. As neighbors and friends from early in the 1950s through today, I will remember the weekend get together events for chicken BBQ, childhood play with my best friend Marlene and her siblings, LeRoy and spoonfuls of corn (the family will know what I mean) and the ever present smile and kindness of Rosie. Rosie was a special comfort when my dad passed and to my mom Jean as she reached her final days. Rosy was as nice as they came and she will be missed. Peggy Mottley Heins Rupp

It's so hard to find the words to say what I am feeling right now. Our BEAUTIFUL, smiling Rosie is gone. GOD must have needed a very special angel. She was such a good friend to many and my mom was one of them. I will never forget how gracefully she would dance with her special love, LeRoy. I am picturing the two together again dancing in heaven. I hope my Dad is playing the harmonica I sent with him in his pocket. I will never forget all the family gatherings. My THOUGHTS are with you, my PRAYERS are with you, and my heart ACHES for you. Your Mom was a wonderful lady. I am so happy to have known her. I am so sorry to hear of Rosie's unexpected passing. She was a very special lady and will be greatly missed. Her infectious smile, positive disposition, and kind heart was something that made an impression on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rosie & her family were not only neighbors but great friends that formed a basis for many of my favorite childhood memories around chicken BBQs. Rosie was a great and long lasting friend to my Mom and was always there to support her. Her regular visits while Mom was in the nursing home was appreciated by Mom and the rest of the family. I am sorry that I will be unable to attend Rosie's services. Please know that I am there in spirit and prayer.
