Marian Phillipson

Marian J. Phillipson, age 87 of Argyle WI passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at St. Clare Friedenscheim Assisted Living in Monroe, WI. She was born February 10, 1928 in Argyle the daughter of Seymour and Irene (Tollackson) Saalsaa. Marian graduated from Argyle High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Paul M. Phillipson on November 19, 1949 at Yellowstone Lutheran Church in rural Blanchardville, WI. Marian lived in Argyle most of her life. After her graduation, Marian worked at St. Clare Hospital and was a seasonal employee at Swiss Colony in Monroe. She also worked at Burreson's Clover Farm Store, Phillipson Ford Garage, Berget Jewelry, and at the Norseman Supper Club in Argyle as a cook .Marian is survived by her two sons: Dave (Christine) Phillipson and Rick (Virginia Rowell) Phillipson both of Argyle; three grandchildren: Tim Phillipson, Tricia (Chad) Zembroski, and Riley Phillipson; four great-grandchildren: Emily and Garrett Phillipson, and Alex and Zach Zembroski; and her special dog: Gizmo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Paul; and two brothers: Paul and Richard Saalsaa.Marian was a member of Yellowstone Lutheran Church, its WELCA, and Argyle American Legion Auxilary Post #251. She enjoyed spending her free time quilting, sewing, cooking, and baking for her family and friends. Marian was also a proud den mother for the Argyle Cub Scouts. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Yellowstone Lutheran Church (4472 Saints Rd, rural Blanchardville) with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (801 Milwaukee Street, Argyle) and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church.
