Hal Ubersox

Hal E. Ubersox, age 57 of Shullsburg, WI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, WI. He was born October 16, 1958 in Darlington the son of Fred "Fritz" and Joyce (Puls) Ubersox. Hal was united in marriage to Sherry L. Richardson on April 4, 1987 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg. Hal grew up in rural Shullsburg on the Ubersox family farm in Shullsburg Township where he farmed until 2000 and moved into the city of Shullsburg. In 1999 he began driving cement truck for Horsfield Construction of Peosta, IA. Hal is survived by his wife Sherry at home; step-mother: Lois Ubersox of Gratiot, WI; three children: Austin (Breanna) Ubersox of Dodgeville, WI, Bronson Ubersox of Shullsburg, and Gavin Ubersox of Platteville, WI; two brothers: Jim Ubersox of Shullsburg and Rick (Kim Jacobsen) Ubersox of Darlington; one sister: Gale (Ken) Wilson of Lancaster, WI; two step-brothers: Jim (Lori) Larson of Madison, WI, and Gordy Larson of Gratiot; three step-sisters: Audery Larson of Milwaukee, WI, Barb Bonney of Blanchardville, WI, and Sharon (Bruce) Carlson of Winnebago, IL; his beloved dog Dexter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-brother: Charlie Larson; step-sister: Carol Larson; sister-in-law: Alice Ubersox; great-nephew: Jordan Ubersox; and his mother and father-in-law: Mark (Ruth) Richardson. Hal loved gardening, canning and then sharing the vegetables with his family and friends. He was also a good mechanic and enjoyed working in his garage repairing his families' vehicles. Hal could often be seen driving around town with his dog Dexter visiting family and friends. He will also be remembered and appreciated by his neighbors for helping them out by cutting their grass and plowing their snow. Hal was a lifelong Packers fan. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church (226 W. Church Street, Shullsburg) with Rev. Jeffrey A. Meyer officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church and from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Wednesday at the church.
