Obituary
Jon Riley, age 51 of rural Darlington, WI passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 24, 2016 while on a snowmobiling trip in Upper Michigan. He was born October 13, 1964 in Darlington the son of Earl and Judith (Smith) Riley. Jon graduated from Darlington High school in 1983. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Ann Steiner on June 1, 1984 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. Jon lived in Darlington Township and co-owned and operated Riley Brothers Beef and Grain Farms with his brother Jeff. Jon is survived by his wife Cheryl at home; mother: Judy Riley-Smith of Darlington; four children: Joshua (Ashley) Riley, Ashley (Scott McDonald) Riley, Jordan (Kelli Retallick) Riley, and Alyvia (Carson Carpenter) Riley all of rural Darlington; one granddaughter: Rella Irene Riley; mother and father-in-law: Delbert (Patsy) Steiner of rural Darlington; one sister: Julie (Ed) Fitzsimons of rural Darlington; one brother: Jeff (Suzanne) Riley of rural Darlington; one brother-in-law: Joe (Gina) Reichling of rural Darlington; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father in March 1984; and one sister: Jennifer Reichling in December 1990.Jon was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington, Darlington Country Club, Darlington Pool League, American Angus Association, and was a strong contributor to the Darlington Community in a multitude of ways. Jon cherished his children and enjoyed reading to his granddaughter. He was dedicated to the family business and worked hard every day. Jon loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. "Family Remembrances" will be shared Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10:45 A.M at Holy Rosary Catholic Church a branch of Our Lady of Fatima Parish (104 E. Harriet St, Darlington). A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John Bosco Pudhota officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, January 29, 2016 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the church. A funeral luncheon will be held following the burial at Riley Brothers Family Farm (9141 R&K Road, Darlington). The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jon's name.

Best memory of Jon . Las Vegas playing cards . Jon standing behind me . Lost my first hand , said " Laurie you need to double down , your going to get it back as long as you keep doubling down " Of course I lost. I also lost 6 times in a row . Jon got out his money and said " Laurie your not going to stop " So WE had our money up and we won on the 7th hand . He laughed each time we lost and he said " I told you so when WE finally won. Love this guy

One of the many bull sales he had we came to watch Chad..Jon was in the ring and my son Tanner kept raising the bid on a bull. I would look at Jon and say sorry he just laughed winked at Tanner and said thanks bud..what a carefree guy he was....
