Barbara J. Benson, age 84 of Monroe, WI formerly of Argyle, WI passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 at The Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe. She was born July 7, 1931 in Darlington, WI, the daughter of Marvin and Winifred (Lee) Paulson. Barbara lived in Darlington until her marriage to Irvin Benson on August 27, 1949 at Darlington Un. Methodist church Parsonage. Following their marriage Barbara and Irvin farmed in the Waldwick, Lamont, and Argyle Townships. In 1985, they moved to Monticello, WI and then to Monroe in 2005. Barbara worked seasonally at Swiss Colony in Monroe for 23 years. She also worked in housekeeping at Monroe Clinic Hospital and later at GreenCo as an aide.Barbara is survived by four daughters: Sheryl (Larry) Klemm of Browntown, WI, Kathy Benson of Monroe, Denita (Dan) O'Brien of Baraboo, WI, and Julie Jordan of Freeport, IL; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister: Carol Hocking of Benton, WI; and one brother-in-Law: Ken Rowley of Monroe; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Irvin on August 10, 2009; two sons: Lee Allen Benson in 1953 and Michael Benson in 2006; three brothers: Marvin and Bill Paulson and one brother in infancy; and three sisters: Marilyn Cline, Shirley Rowley and one sister in infancy.Barbara was a member of Apple Grove Lutheran Church. She loved to spend her free time reading and spending time with her family.Funeral services will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. at Apple Grove Lutheran Church, 14501 Apple Grove Church Road in rural Argyle with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Apple Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Argyle. A visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 P.M. until time of services at the Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.For those who prefer, a memorial fund has been established in Barbara's name.

Sincere Sympathy in your sad loss. Barbara helped me with some genealogy facts for which I was very grateful. She was a very nice lady. I am a sister to Janice, Marvin Paul's wife, so our paths crossed often over the years.
