Glenn Lancaster

Glenn W. "Bud" Lancaster, Jr., age 82 of rural Darlington, WI passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. He was born September 6, 1933 in Lamont Township in Lafayette County, WI the son of Glenn and Frieda (Wenger) Lancaster, Sr. Bud was united in marriage to Joyce R. Alm on January 5, 1952 at Apple Grove Lutheran Church in rural Argyle, WI. He grew up in Lamont Township where he began farming on the Lancaster Family Farm at age 14. Following his marriage to Joyce he continued to work on the family farm until 2000 when they built their new home. Bud and Joyce fully retired in 2003. Bud also worked for Elzen Trucking out of Lamont and F.S. out of Darlington for a number of years. Bud is survived by his four children: Bob (Diane Berget) Lancaster of South Wayne, WI, Deb (Craig) Temby of Darlington, WI, Diane (Tom) Boyle of Wiota, WI, and Tim (Kim) Lancaster of Blanchardville, WI; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister: Sandi (Ray) Whited of Warren, IL and one sister-in-law: Barb Lancaster of Darlington. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joyce on June 16, 2016; one brother: LeRoy Lancaster; and two sisters: Rosie Coffey and Darlene Butler.Bud was a member of the Fraternal Bowling League at Ranch House Lanes. He had a passion for the game of softball, coaching for the Lamont Hustler 4-H Club and playing and managing for the Lamont Slow pitch and Fast Pitch teams for many years. Bud was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish Up North. He loved spending time with his family and creating memories that will stay in the hearts of his family forever. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Lamont United Methodist Church (14543 County Rd. D, Darlington) with Rev. Christopher V. Leistra officiating. Burial will be in Lamont Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main Street, Darlington) and on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M. at the church.
