Dennis Rouse

Dennis L. Rouse, age 60 of rural Darlington, WI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville, WI. He was born December 7, 1955 in Platteville, WI the son of George and Lucille (Womack/NeCollins) Rouse. Dennis graduated from Platteville High School in 1973 and later went on to graduate from Southwest Tech in Fennimore, WI with a degree in auto mechanics. He was united in marriage to Jane M. McKeon on December 22, 1999 in Platteville Township. Dennis grew up in the Platteville area before joining the U.S. Army in 1974. He was honorably discharge in 1977. After graduating from Southwest Tech Dennis worked as an auto mechanic. He also drove bus for the Amish children in the Belmont School District. Dennis is survived by his wife Jane at home; two children: Tiffany (Jason) Donahoe of Platteville and Shannon Rouse of Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Dillon Donahoe, Bryenna and Gunner Steber; four brothers: Nelson (Pam) NeCollins of Platteville, Donnie NeCollins of Viroqua, WI, Arthur (Nedra) NeCollins of Arizona, and Billy Rouse of Dubuque, IA; and one sister: Linda (Mark Cooper) Larson of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters: Margaret Little, Janelda Henry, Ruth NeCollins, and one in infancy. Dennis was a past member of Mineral Point American Legion Post #170. He loved horseback riding and spending time outdoors. He was also a fan of Folk, Bluegrass, and old time Rock and Roll music. Dennis will be remembered best for always being willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington (508 Main Street, Darlington) where military rites will be accorded by Bates-O'Brien-Howe-Wiegel-Roelli American Legion Post #214 of Darlington at 1:00 P.M.
