Amelda Stoddard

Amelda Stoddard, age 93 of Shullsburg, WI passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Shullsburg Home in Shullsburg. She was born August 19, 1922 in Shullsburg Township, WI, the daughter of Marcellus and Gladys (Rowe) Stoddard. Amelda lived in the Shullsburg area all of her life and from the age of 2½ she lived with her aunt and uncle, Rieta and Lester Colbeck. She worked as a Domestic Housekeeper for many years before working at Christenson Produce Company in Darlington and later at Advance Transformer in Monroe from 1968 until her retirement in 1975.Amelda is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Cecil Eugene Stoddard in 1924 and one in infancy in 1925.Amelda was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg and the Circle of the United Methodist Women and was very active in the church during her younger years. Shewill be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.A prayer service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.at Erickson Funeral Home (235 N. Judgement Street, Shullsburg) with Rev. Jeffrey A. Meyer of Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
