William Woodward

William T. "Bill" Woodward, age 72 of Shullsburg, WI passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City, WI. He was born on August 30, 1943 in Shullsburg the son of Donald and Elizabeth (Lyne) Woodward. Bill graduated from Darlington High School in 1961. He lived in the Shullsburg area most of his life where he drove milk truck, farmed with his parents on the family farm and later drove semi-trucks over the road until his retirement in 2008.Bill is survived by two sons: Michael (Pam) Woodward of Platteville, WI and Scott (Peggy) Woodward of Shullsburg; three grandchildren: Michael Woodward and Jack and Paige Woodward; one sister: Shirley (Donald) Andrews of Darlington, WI; one brother: Rob (Karlena) Woodward of Shullsburg. He was preceded in death by his father on April 1, 1999; his mother on April 20, 1999; and one sister: Elizabeth Jane Woodward in infancy. Bill was an avid NASCAR fan and always rooted for Jeff Gordon. He also had an interest in antique tractors and cars and loved going to tractor pulls. He liked watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. In Bill's youth he played banjo in the family band and always enjoyed traveling around to watch live music. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church (226 W. Church Street, Shullsburg) with Rev. Jeffrey A. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Shullsburg. A visitation will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (235 N. Judgement Street, Shullsburg) and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
