Delbert Kliebenstein

Delbert J. Kliebenstein, age 87 of Lancaster formerly of Belmont, WI passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Orchard Manor in Lancaster, WI. He was born February 18, 1929 in Platteville, WI the son of Walter and Helen (Byrne) Kliebenstein. Delbert graduated from Belmont High School. He was united in marriage to Joyce D. Schroeder on February 15, 1958 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville, WI. Delbert lived in the Truman area most of his life where he farmed. He had a deep love for both his family and the land they worked on and cherished every moment they had together.Delbert is survived by his children: Phillis Smith of Platteville, Andrew (Diane) Kliebenstein of Belmont, Rose (Dan) Rude of River Falls, WI, Bernadette (Steven) Schaub of Scottsdale, AZ, Dale Kliebenstein of Darlington, WI, Dan (Missy) Kliebenstein of Potosi, WI, and Lauri (Mike) Spease of Livingston, WI; 17 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 4 step-great-granddaughters; and one brother: Francis "Sandy" (Dorothy) Kliebenstein of Janesville, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joyce in 1988, one son: Larry Kliebenstein in 1986; one grandson: Michael Smith in 2004; one brother: Bernard (Marie) Kliebenstein; and one sister: Helen (John) Byrne. Delbert was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Truman, Knights of Columbus, and the NFO. His hobbies include: playing cards, dancing, traveling, reading, and watching sports on TV, taking a keen interest in the Green Bay Packers. Delbert will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 8, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (20984 County Road Z, Belmont) with Rev. David Flanagan of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Benton, WI officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Steil-Erickson Funeral Home (206 E. Harriet Street, Darlington) where a rosary will be prayed at 3 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
