Obituary
Douglas V. McCallister, age 59 of Darlington, WI passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his home. He was born May 9, 1957 in St. Charles, IL the son of Willard L. and Kalah L. (Saladin) McCallister. Doug graduated from Yorkville High School in Yorkville, IL and later went on to graduate from the College for Carpenters. He was born in Illinois where he lived in different cities until he and his family moved to Wisconsin in 1992.Doug is survived by his children: Keith (Crystal) McCallister and William (Kimberly) McCallister both of Shullsburg, WI, Tressie (Benjamin) Ford of Highland, WI, Tina (Derek) Tree and Richard McCallister both of Darlington; 16 grandchildren; and two brothers: Terry McCallister of Virginia and Sam McCallister. He was preceded in death by parents: Willard and Kalah (Saladin) McCallister; three brothers: Marvin, Gary, and Daniel McCallister; and one grandson: Jaxson Tree. Doug cherished the time he spent with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, playing pool, and crafting. He was a hard worker and enjoyed being a carpenter. Doug will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main Street, Darlington) with Rev. Mark Gilberts of Lafayette County Christian Center officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral home. My condolences to Doug's beautiful family. I am so happy that I met Doug the very year he and Lisa moved up to Wisconsin. I've enjoyed his great kids ever since. Rest in Peace..... Hatheway
