Obituary
Betty J. Hermanson, age 78 of Darlington, WI passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. She was born March 1, 1938 in Monroe, WI the daughter of Howard and Esther (Moen) Hale. Betty graduated from Darlington High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Charles R. Hermanson on January 23, 1960 at Fayette United Methodist Church. Betty grew up in Fayette Township. Following her graduation from high school she worked as an operator for the telephone company in Monroe, WI from 1956 - 1965. In 1964 she began farming with Charlie in WIota and Fayette area until 2011 when they retired to Darlington. Betty is survived by her husband Charlie at home; three children: Jim (Jean) Hermanson of Sun Prairie, WI, Bob Hermanson of Darlington, and Sheri (Joel Ewers) Hermanson of Argyle, WI; seven grandchildren: Tracy James (Molly) Hermanson, Taryn Hermanson, Corey, Chayse and Cashton Hermanson, Charlene and Jadon Hermanson; one brother: Dennis Hale of Janesville, WI; and one sister: Evelyn (Richard) Larson of Wiota, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Charles Allen Hermanson; one daughter: Connie Marie Hermanson; her father and mother-in-law: Milton (Edna) Hermanson; and one sister-in-law: Mary Hale. Betty was a member of Apple Grove Lutheran Church in rural Argyle. She loved farming with her husband, spending time with her children and grandchildren creating memories that will last a lifetime. Betty enjoyed dancing, sewing, and had a knack for visiting and telling stories while getting to know people. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A public visitation will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main Street, Darlington). A private family funeral service will be held at a later date. For those who prefer, a memorial fund has been established in Betty's name.

I am so glad that I had the chance to get reacquainted with Betty when I moved here. Always greeted me with a smile on her face! Her n Charlie made the best donuts n always shared...She will be missed but the blessing is that she is pain free n she is now your special guardian Angel!, my prayers are with u all!

Betty was always one of the sweetest people ever - just like her Mom Ester. Just a lovely person to know. I remember when she showed 4-H calves, even went to the Wisconsin State Fair with them one year. Memories of her are endearing - in grade school, high school, church and 4-H. The Hale Family holds a special place in my heart. My prayers and sympathies to all her family.
