Kenneth R. "Ken" Royce, age 55 of Shullsburg, WI perished in a house fire along with his great-nephew Colt Royce on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Shullsburg. He was born January 17, 1962 in Hayward, WI the son of Judson and Valeria (Voorhees) Royce. Ken was united in marriage to Helen A. Kitelinger on June 25, 1988 in New Diggings, WI. He grew up in Northern Wisconsin where he farmed before moving to Platteville, WI and later to Shullsburg where he has resided since. Ken worked at Citation in Browntown, WI and later for Monroe Truck Equipment in Monroe, WI. Ken is survived by his wife Helen at home; one son: Josh (fiancé: Shelly Montgomery) Royce of Shullsburg; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister: Betty Rose Royce. Ken was an avid fisherman and spent a lot of his free time restoring antique Coleman Lanterns. He also loved traveling up north to camp at Goose Lake near La Crosse, WI. Ken will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg is serving the family.
