I remember going to the Standard Station as a kid with Dad (Don Leinberger) to stop in and see you. You'd always offer to buy me a candy bar or pop. I'd go up to Tommy John's with Dad too to watch you guys work on the stock car. You were taken away too soon. The Daytona 500 won't be the same without you. My sincere sympathy, Cheryl Hartwig

It's sad to lose an old friend like JB. Camping at the Bristol races, hanging out at the firehouse and years ago at Ed's Standard were the good times for great memories. Whenever we met, Jim would always greet me with a handshake and smile. A friend since high school, this good man will be missed.

There are not enough words to express how much Burkie will be missed! He helped me in so many ways n always would go the extra mile for you! He was one of a kind! R.I. P. My friend!
