They were married for 60 years until she preceded him in death on April, 1, 2014. In 1961, Karl and Luise moved from Chicago to a farm in Brodhead, WI. In 1965 they moved to Argyle and farmed in Adams Township in Green County, WI. In 1980 they made their last move to rural Argyle where he has resided since. Karl was proud of what he and his family were able to achieve through hard work and blessings from the Lord. Onkle Karl (and Tante Luise) always had a strong warm loving welcome when we would meet. Fond memories of going with my Dad (Georg) and my Onkle Rudy to the farm as a kid. Also, Great experience living and working on the farm as a teenager. NO sleeping in. Our condolences to Karl's family and may he rest in peace.

Karl and Luise were the perfect legal immigrants welcomed to the United States. They both learned the horrors of World War II at an early age, but had the upbeat personalities and determination to make their way to a better life. Karl and his family worked incredibly hard ( Karl say to that) to prosper and be valued members of their community. Karl was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. I played the accordion for their wedding and my sister was a bridesmaid, and although we lived in different states we saw each other occasionally and kept track of our families. Karl was always a good time, a good man and had a way of staying in your heart. He will be missed.

Karl and Louise were some of the best neighbors and surrogate grandparents anyone could ask for!! Karl always made bacon for our children which they thoroughly enjoyed!! When ever we asked Karl a farming question he would answer it and then add” tell that husband of yours not to quit his day job.!” Karl will be miss!!
