Pamela Colson

BLANCHARDVILLE, Wis. - Pamela Paulina Colson, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away at home Dec. 9, 2017, at age 59 after a courageous battle with colon cancer.Pam was born Aug. 28, 1958, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Swiss cheesemakers Lester and Bertha (Bruehlman) Willborn. She grew up in the family's Adamsville Cheese Factory until they moved to the Moscow Center Cheese Factory outside of Hollandale. She started school in Hollandale and graduated from Pecatonica High School with the class of 1976.Pam married James Dean Colson on Dec. 27, 1980, at Hollandale Lutheran Church. They worked hard and traveled, including to Switzerland with her dad, brother Steve and sister-in-law Liz, which was a fond memory for them. Pam and Jim also enjoyed traveling to Mount Rushmore with her sister, Karen, and her brother-in-law, Neil, earlier this year.Pam and Jim had two children, Cassie and Cameron, who were her proudest accomplishments and greatest joys. She steadfastly believed in the power of higher education and put her full support behind her children obtaining bachelor's degrees.She thoroughly enjoyed attending her children's events, games and concerts, planting her flower beds with her mom, collecting antiques and going out to eat with her friends. She always particularly loved cats, including the couple's first pet, Bucky, and most recently the family's purebred Himalayan, Jingles, who remained by her side during her illness.She worked in many service-oriented jobs, including at Dick's Supermarket in Monroe for more than 20 years, where she quickly became known for her friendly and caring spirit by her regular customers and where she made many dear friends.Pam is survived by her husband Jim of almost 37 years; children Cassie (Matthew) Perenchio, of Norwalk, and Cameron (Jazmin) Colson, of Sheboygan; mother Bertha Willborn of Hollandale; and siblings Karen (Neil) Bogenschneider, of Verona, and Steve (Liz) Willborn, of Lincoln, Neb. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her father, Lester, in 1994.The family would like to thank Dr. Richardson, Kelsey and staff of Monroe Clinic Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.A visitation for Pam will be held Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services, with the Rev. Michelle Elfers officiating, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Lutheran Church in Blanchardville. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle.
