Obituary
Walter "Skip" Clark, Jr., age 71 of rural Blanchardville, WI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at his home. He was born March 10, 1947 in Chicago, IL the son of Walter and Gertrude (Drella) Clark, Sr. Skip graduated from York High School in Elmhurst, IL and later from Elgin Community College. He was united in marriage to Kathie Boettcher on April 24, 1971 in Elmhurst. Skip lived in Elgin, IL until July of 2003 when they moved up to Blanchardville. Skip is survived by his loving wife Kathie at home. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son: Scott in 2001. Skip was a member of Yellowstone Lutheran Church in rural Blanchardville. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1968 until he was honorably discharged in 1970 during which time he served in the Vietnam War. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Yellowstone Lutheran Church (4472 Saints Road, Blanchardville) with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Church Cemetery where military graveside rites will be accorded by Argyle American Legion Post #251. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family. Another great veteran, friend and neighbor has fallen before his time. Our family will miss your words of encouragement, your constant presence maintaining your prestine yard, and your alerts on the monster bucks in the neighborhood, the crappies biting, and the pheasants and turkey report, but most importantly we will miss you asking our kids about their activities and watching them grow up. Like I promised you through your surgery, if something should happen to you, we will take care of your bride. RIP, my friend and neighbor. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Kathy. Skip, you will be missed. We are out of town this weekend, but a shot of Jack Daniels in your honor at noon on Saturday will be had. The Steve O’Bel Family.

Skip and I served together in Vietnam and years later we shared time together with Kathie at six reunions of our Infantry Company. His exuberant and cheerful presence was always evident and we will forever miss that. Kathie I am so sorry for your loss and the men that served with Skip will always remember him.
