Obituary
Thomas D. "Tom" Gille, age 56 of Darlington, WI, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. He was born January 12, 1962 in Darlington, WI, the son of LaVerne "Pug" and Jean (McDermott) Gille. Tom graduated from Darlington High School in 1980. He lived in the Darlington area his entire life. He worked for G.D.C., his family's wholesale Dairy Company for 35 years. Tom is survived by his mother, Jean Gille; brother; Michael (Kim) Gille; sister; Patricia Gille, nieces and nephews; Ryan (Heidi) Gille, Ashley Gille, Cole Gille, Kyle Gille; a great-niece and nephew; Taggart and Mila Gille and a special friend; Laurie. He was preceded in death by his father; LaVerne "Pug" Gille; and one sister; Nancy Gille; and a special friend; EJ Thoman. Tom was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. He was an accomplished pool player and played competitively in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. Tom was also a muscle car enthusiast, enjoyed Blues festivals, Badger vs Iowa games with EJ and friends, and a good game of cards. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church a branch of Our Lady of Fatima Parish (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Rev. Joji Reddy officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Tom's name.

I am so shocked to read this obit. I so enjoyed visiting with him when I delivered Meals on Wheels. He will surely be missed. His sense of humor was one everyone should have.

I am so very sorry for your loss! Tom was a great friend and I will miss him very much! I first met him in our parking lot feeding a cat he named Julio. We have been friends ever since! He always made me laugh with his funny texts. I will truly miss our chats. He is at peace now! Rest in peace Tom!
