Ruth A. Unbehaun, age 69 of Darlington, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at her home in Darlington. She was born December 12, 1948 in Cuba City, WI the daughter of Arvid and Ruth (Runde) Lowery. Ruth graduated from Cuba City High School. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dennis R. Unbehaun on November 5, 1977 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI. Ruth lived in both the Cuba City and Darlington areas most of her life. She worked at Dicks Bakery for many years in Platteville, WI. Ruth is survived by her daughter: Nicole (Shawn) Henning of Janesville; two brothers: Tom (Mary) Lowery and Gus (Deb) Lowery both of Cuba City; four sisters: Kim Lowery and Josie Craugh both of Platteville; Linda Lowery-Brandt of Richland Center, WI, and Susan (Alfred) Miller of Cuba City; seven nieces and nephews; and two loyal pets that she loved dearly: Angel and Allie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dennis in 2018; and one loyal pet: Boo. Ruth was a past member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. She liked to put her brain to work by playing sudoku on her computer and doing crosswords. She loved to watch Godzilla movies and crotchet various items. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. Per Ruth's request, a private family service will be held at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. My Mommy was one of the most caring and sweet women I've ever met. She was goofy woman who was lucky enough to find and marry her best friend. While we were a small family of 3, we shared so much love and joy over the years. No matter how hard things got I always knew I could count on my parents to support me. Ruth Unbehaun was a doting wife and mother, loving sister to her 6 brothers and sisters, supportive Aunt, and an amazing friend. She was also a dedicated Mom to her fur babies, First to Boo and then to Angel and Allie. She could watch sci-fi movies and cop shows for hours, but her favorite movies of all times were the old school Godzilla flicks. She also loved The Rock and Gene Simmons of Kiss, she thought they were the coolest men alive. She was able to crochet beautiful things just like her mother before her and put love into every stitch. Even though I wasn't able to give her grandchildren she loved my best friends children like they were her own grandbabies. Tahlia, Jakob, and Jaxton meant the world to her. Some of her happiest moments, especially after Dad passed away were when I would show her pictures and tell her stories about them. Even when she was having a hard time she would give the shirt off of her back to help others. She always thought about herself last and everyone else first. To know her was to know unconditional love. After Dad passed she always said that seeing a Cardinal was him coming back to see her, she saw them a lot but when she did it was always a mated pair, they were never without each other. I hope that wherever she is, she is finally at peace and back with Dad. No longer in pain or worried. My life is forever changed losing her (them) so suddenly, but the memories of the love I always felt will never fade. I love you and miss you so much Mommy.

Today was the first time I was able to view her Obituary. Ruth was such a wonderful person. Your parents loved you with all their heart Nicole!! You are correct, they would help anyone out, I will miss my talks with Ruth and how we used to pick on Dennis. When Christmas comes, I will cry every time I hear the song "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" as she loved that song. I will also miss very much seeing all of her wonderful decorations she would always do for the Holidays. You are forever in my thoughts and prayers. I am always here for you as your parents were always there for me
