Daniel Plear

Daniel J. "Dan" Plear, age 63 of Mineral Point, WI formerly of Shullsburg, WI passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on October 23, 1955 in Hazel Green, WI the son of Donald and Helen (Hasken) Plear. Dan graduated from Shullsburg High School and later went on to receive a certificate from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, WI in small engine repair in 1982. He grew up in Shullsburg on his grandparent's farm. After graduation, Dan worked for Gensler Farms in rural Shullsburg for a few years until later taking a job at Brown's Dairy Farm in Shullsburg for several years. In 1989, Dan was in a motorcycle accident that left him disabled and physically hindered.Dan is survived by two children: Tina (Jon) Schwartzlow of Monroe, WI and James Plear of Browntown, WI; two grandchildren: Jadyn and Mikayla Schwartzlow; and three brothers: Mike (Sue) Plear of Cuba City, WI, Terry Plear of Shullsburg, and Keith (Angie Brigham) Plear of Edgerton, WI; One Sister-in-law: Joanne Plear of Shullsburg WI. and many Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Tim Plear in 2006.Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, especially euchre, bartending at Dolly's Tap, and watching the Green Bay Packers on TV. He had a passion for cars and loved his Brown Dodge Charger. Dan loved his children and his grandchildren and cherished the memories they were able to create together. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church (344 N. Judgement Street, Shullsburg) with Rev. Sudhakar Devarapu officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at which time a rosary will be prayed. The Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg is serving the family.
