Gary Redfern

Gary L. Redfern, age 72 of Cuba City, WI formerly of Watertown, WI entered into eternal rest Monday, December 10, 2018 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville, WI. He was born March 1, 1946 in Galena, IL the son of Eldren "Danny" and Vera (Heim) Redfern. He was raised in New Diggings, WI, where he attended grade school there until his 8th grade graduation. Gary graduated from Benton High School in 1964. Following his high school graduation he attended Barber School in Madison, WI. Gary enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1966 until being honorably discharged in 1968. When he returned home, he opened his own barber shop in Cuba City for several years until moving to Lancaster WI, where he became very involved in American Family Insurance Company. Gary moved to Watertown, WI where he was the district manager for American Family Insurance until his retirement. Gary is survived by his sons: Sean Redfern of Watertown, WI, Chad Redfern of Montana, and Ryan (Wendy) Redfern of Jackson, WI; 6 grandsons; one sister: Sandy (John) Aurit of Galena, IL; one step-brother: Glenn (Lynn) Harris of Galena; one step-sister: Donna Harris of Shullsburg, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and step father Morris Harris. Gary was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and golfing. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. Per Gary's request there will be no visitation or funeral services. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
