Cameron Whited

Cameron Michael Whited, age 24 of Darlington, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born April 4, 1994 in Darlington, son of Steve and Bridget (Pedley) Whited. Cameron was raised and grew up in Darlington and graduated from Darlington High School in 2012. Following his graduation Cameron moved to Pine City, MN where he attended Pine Tech and studied gunsmithing for one year. One year later Cameron returned home to attend NICC in Peosta, IA where he studied police science. Cameron later worked various jobs around Darlington and for six months traveled across the United States working on cooling systems with his dad.Cameron is survived by his parents Steve and Bridget Whited of Darlington; one sister: Haley (Ethan Paul) Whited and his niece Remi that he adored of Darlington; his maternal grandparents: Tom (Ellie) Pedley of Shullsburg, WI; Harry (Osiris) Vickerman of Lone Rock, WI; Carla (Wayne Redfearn) Vickerman of Benton, WI; and Ray (Sandra) Whited of Warren, IL; one great-grandmother: Barb Pedley of Leadmine, WI; four uncles: Wes (Jody) Whited of Osseo, WI; Mark Whited of Sacramento, California; Jon (Sonya) Pedley, of Shullsburg, WI; Nick (Melissa) Vickerman of Lone Rock, WI; two aunts: Jolene (Kevin) Slater of Argyle, WI, and Amanda (Dave Foley) Pedley, of Shullsburg, WI; many cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandfather: Jack Pedley and Conrad Harker; one maternal grandmother: Helen Harker; paternal great-grandparents: Glen (Frieda) Lancaster and Horace (Louise) Whited.Cameron was the type of individual that could light up the room and put a smile on anyone's face without having to try. Cameron was a proud member of the NRA who also loved to fish, hunt, and have a cold beer with friends and family. Cameron also enjoyed playing his XBOX, especially online with his dad while he was traveling for work. Cameron cherished his family and the memories they created together more than anything else in the world. He will undoubtedly be sadly missed by his family and friends.A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Darlington United Methodist Church (546 Park Place, Darlington) with Rev. Angela Utter officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington (508 Park Place) and on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
