Obituary
Patricia R. "Patty" Gille, age 61 of Darlington, WI passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born on June 12, 1957 the daughter of LaVerne "Pug" and Jeanie (McDermott) Gille. Patty lived in Darlington her entire life. She graduated from Darlington High School in 1975. Following graduation, she worked at GDC & Associates in rural Darlington. Patty is survived by her mother Jeanie Gille of rural Darlington; her two children: Ryan (Heidi) Gille of rural Darlington and Ashley Gille of Monroe, WI; two grandchildren: Taggart and Mila Gille; one brother: Michael (Kim) Gille of Darlington; and two nephews: Cole and Kyle Gille. She was preceded in death by her father: LaVerne "Pug" Gille; one sister: Nancy Gille; and one brother: Thomas Gille. Patty was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington and was a past member of Darlington Jaycees. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren creating memories they will all remember forever. Patty will be remembered for her love of playing cards and board games where she made up a number of her own rules to make the game more interesting. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Rev. Joji Reddy officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington) and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church. Patty was never a fan of formality, so please dress casually in her honor. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. For those who prefer, a memorial fund has been established in Patty's name.

Patty was my first cousin and in many ways felt like a big sister. Many of my childhood memories include Patty. I remember sitting in the kitchen of her house listening to Joyce Mavis on the radio waiting to see if the Darlington swimming pool would be open. Patty was with me when I fell and made my first visit to the doctor for stitches. Patty took me driving when I was 15 and taught me how to do a donut--she figured I should do it with her (and not in my parents' car). Patty was fun loving and had an open door to friends and family alike. I will miss her.
