Mildred Elaine Thompson (Kunz) 93 of Rockford passed away 3-29-2019 while residing at the home of her daughter-in-law, Martha Kunz since 1979 in Rockford, IL. Born 9/08/1925, daughter of Alvin and Lena (Peterson) Thompson in Argyle, Wisconsin. Married Herman Kunz 10/06/1945.She is survived by her daughter Germaine Haarstad of North Dakota.Predeceased by her parents, husband, son Steven, son in law Oscar Haarstad, sister Clara Sealander, brother Glenn Thompson, and special friend Walter Kiefer.

Mildred helped her dad deliver milk until milk had to be pasteurized. She suffered from undulant fever once. She picked currants to earn money for the family, and picked strawberries for her own income. She briefly worked as a waitress in Monroe, wi. She was very giving and helped raise other people’s children. She donated time to SwedishAmerican hospital in Rockford and helped the Boy Scouts out for many years. Always ready for a game of cards or trips, our family continues to miss her diligence and loving care.
