Doris Troy

Doris J. Troy, age 86 of Shullsburg, WI passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Edenbrook in Platteville, WI. She was born July 6, 1932 in Hazel Green, WI, the daughter of George and Minta (Pyzer) Eustice. Doris graduated from Benton High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Ardell M. Troy on July 27, 1950 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg. Doris lived in the Shullsburg area most of her life. She was a waitress at The Roost. She later worked at Atwoods in Stockton, IL for 30 years until her retirement. She truly enjoyed carpooling with her coworkers and friends. She was a volunteer worker at St. Vincent DePaul in Shullsburg. Doris was also a cook at the Brewster Café in Shullsburg. Doris is survived by six children: Joanne (Wayne) Komprood of Dakota, IL, John (Becky) Troy of rural Benton, WI, Ruth (James) Gerber of Stockton, IL, Steven (Connie) Troy of Lomira, WI, Kathryn (Greg Signer) Cole of Cuba City, WI, and Raymond Troy of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Ardell Troy on April 24, 1996; and her brother: Delbert Eustice.Doris was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg. She was an avid Packer, Badger, and Brewer fan. Doris truly enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Rome and Paris. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren watching them evolve into productive adults creating memories they will all remember forever. Doris will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church (344 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg) with Rev. Sudhakar Devarapu officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Erickson Funeral Home, 235 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg, WI from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. where a rosary will be recited at 3:45 P.M. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the church from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church.
