Mary Jacobson

Mary E. Jacobson, age 84 of Darlington, WI passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 14, 1934 in Perry Township in Dane County, WI the daughter of Alfred and Elly (Hansen) Thoni. Mary graduated from Hollandale High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Carroll T. Jacobson on January 16, 1954 in Mineral Point, WI. Upon Carroll's return from the Army, they moved to Ft. Atkinson, WI. In 1957, Carroll and Mary moved to Darlington where together they have resided since. Mary worked alongside Carroll on the farm while raising their family. She also enjoyed working for Shakeproof in Darlington. Mary is survived by her husband Carroll at home; her children: Lynn (Art) Rendon of Warren, IL, Dan (Jennifer) Jacobson of Monroe, WI, Dave (Mary Ellen) Jacobson of rural Darlington, Tony (Carolyn) Jacobson of Janesville WI, Jim (Carla) Jacobson of Darlington, and John (Terri) Jacobson of Belmont, WI; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Ingrid Campbell, June Wankerl, and Judy Thoni in infancy; and one brother: John Thoni.Mary was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington and its CCW. She loved listening to music, dancing and singing along with her favorite songs. Mary adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished the memories they created together. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A Time of Family Remembrance will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Monsignor Larry Bakke, of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe, WI officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church where a rosary will be prayed at 3:30 P.M. A visitation will also be held Thursday from 10:15 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
