Marcella B. McKillip, age 91 of Darlington, WI passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. She was born March 18, 1928 in Harrison Township, WI the daughter of Louis and Lilly (Chandler) Foote. Marcella was united in marriage to Francis McKillip in Calamine, WI in May of 1945. She and Francis farmed in Calamine before moving to the City of Darlington in 1980. Once she moved into Darlington she began babysitting in Darlington for 15 years.Marcella is survived by her two sons: Michael (Julie) McKillip of rural Darlington and Joseph (Nancy) McKillip of Dubuque, IA; seven grandchildren: Mark (Abby) McKillip, Mitch (Melissa) McKIllip, Jake (Katie) McKillip, and Mandy McKillip all of Darlington, Alicia (Rick) Soppe of Graf, IA, Edward McKillip of Iron River, WI, Jenny (Jamie) Vinger of Sherman, IL; ten great grandchildren; five sisters: Joyce (Mark) Landmark of Fitchburg, WI, Delores Ulvestad of Waukesha, WI, Gloria Hussey of North Carolina, Frances Jackson of Antigo, WI, and Diana Shaw of Blue Mounds, WI and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Francis; one son: Edward McKillip; one brother: Edward Foote; and three sisters: Helen Foote, Ruth Ann McSherry, and Betty Satrum.Marcella was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, gardening, and loved to bake. Her favorite thing to bake was apple pie. Marcella cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and the memories they created together. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Rev. Joji Reddy officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Truman, WI. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Marcella was my oldest sister. She was one of the kindest sweetest people you could ever hope to have in your life. I have many fond memories to hold in my heart. She has now gone on to be with her maker. She will be greeted by all of our loved ones that have gone on before her. Rest In Peace my sweet sister, you will be missed.
