Obituary
Larry W. Paisley, age 63 of Darlington, WI passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. He was born August 19, 1956 in Savanna, IL the son of Duane and Helen (Ostendorf) Paisley. Larry attended Darlington High School in Darlington. Larry lived and worked most of his adult life in the Darlington area where he was employed by Glendenning Redi-Mix and Kurth Service Station. Larry is survived by his brother: Jerry (Mary) Paisley of Darlington; two sisters: Rita Streight of Belvidere, IL and Kay (Robert) Watson of Hanover, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Larry was an avid race car fan and hardly ever missed a race at the Darlington track. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St. Darlington). A graveside service will be held Friday, September 13, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Evergreen Cemetery in Hanover, IL. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Larry's name.

It's been over a couple years since I moved back into the area and over a year ago since I took a drive to Darlington to see the farm that grandma and grandpa & Uncle Larry lived so many years on. I left the area as a young man . After connecting with someone in the shop, a phone call was placed and Uncle Larry came right out to the farm. He made short work of filling me in on a lifetime of events, talking about the races, the shop, his used car sales, family and health issues and other life memories. Looking back to that brief conversation, I'm grateful for you. It's not always easy re-connecting with people after so many years of disconnect but you were there and willing to welcome me back to the farm. I am grateful for you, Uncle Larry. You will be sorely missed.
