Kirk Douglas

Kirk A. "Hoot" Douglas, age 48 passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on October 25, 2019 at his home in Lancaster, WI. Kirk was born November 10, 1970 in Monroe, WI the son of Albert and Margie (Thomas) Douglas. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1988 and later went on to graduate from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, WI after completing the All-Around Butcher program. Kirk worked various jobs including a meat cutter, drove bus for Greenco and Lafayette County, Lands End, and numerous caretaking positions. He was an avid sports fan always backing the Darlington Redbirds, Wisconsin Badgers, Minnesota Vikings, and of course the Chicago Cubs. Kirk is survived by his daughter: Katelyn (Matthew Kunz) Douglas of Platteville, WI; his brothers: Chad (Missy) Douglas and Ric (Donna) Douglas both of Darlington, and Butch (Anne) Douglas of Mineral Point, WI. He is also survived by his niece: Alicia Douglas; and a great-niece and two great-nephews along with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Al and Margie (Thomas) Douglas; one brother: Bryan Douglas; his maternal grandparents: Dwayne and Phyllis Thomas; and his paternal grandparents: Alpha and Hattie Douglas. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a branch of Our Lady of Fatima Parish with Rev. Joji Reddy officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
