Charles Weaver

Charles E. "Charlie" Weaver, age 97, of rural Shullsburg, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Edenbrook in Platteville, WI. He was born on May 14, 1922 at home on the family farm, the son of Robert and Georgiana (Hugill) Weaver. On June 26, 1948, Charlie was united in marriage to Arlene M. Williams. Arlene preceded him in death on February 10, 2013, after nearly 65 years of marriage. They farmed on the Weaver Family Homestead until their retirement in 1983. Charlie was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Gratiot. He was very active in his church and had a deep Christian faith. Charlie loved the outdoors and tinkering with things in his shop and at home. He enjoyed family gatherings and talking about the old days with his children and grandchildren. Charlie is survived by his children: Richard (Marsha) Weaver, rural Shullsburg, WI; Georjean (Mike) Terry, Springdale, AR; and Sally (Jim) Reichling, Monroe, WI; nine grandchildren: Amy (Jason) Udelhofen, Abby (Shawn) Leahy, Anna (Jeff) Robbins, Ali (Shane) Chapman, Michael Terry, Gina (Brian) Dunaway, Katelyn Terry, Cheryl (Alex) Reichling-Clement, and Heather Reichling; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; his parents and four brothers: Robert, Roy, Stillie and Ross Weaver. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gratiot Evangelical Free Church (5605 Main St., Gratiot) with Reverend Glenn Andes officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Charlie's name. The family would like to thank Candy Temperly, PA, Dr. Bearse, Dr. White, the Edenbrook staff and Agrace Hospice for the excellent care they gave Charlie.
