Jerome Stauffacher

Jerome Blair Stauffacher, born on January 28, 1950, died December 29, 2019 at his home in Astor, FL. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1968. He spent most of his life in southwest Wisconsin, where he enjoyed playing cards, talking to anyone about anything, and following the local sports teams. Jerry is survived by his children and grandchildren: Heath Stauffacher (Jen Kerske) Platteville, WI, Ross and Nolan; Julie (Trevor) Stephenson, Mineral Point, WI, Owen and Sophia; Eric (Adrienne) Stauffacher, Blue Mounds, WI, Henry and Will; Jed Stauffacher, Darlington, WI; Jenni (Jared) Stackman, Singapore, Josephine, Hazel and Holden; and Summer Stauffacher, Darlington, WI. His ex-wife, Shirley Stauffacher, Darlington, WI. His siblings: Jim (Miriam) Stauffacher, Morgan Mill, TX; Robert (Paula) Stauffacher, Platteville, WI; and Ruth (Reggie) Lillie, Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Hazel (Holden) Stauffacher, his brothers, Donald and Eugene Stauffacher, and his sisters-in-law, Bobbi and Donna Stauffacher. Jerry was a proud uncle and a friend to many, including his life-long friend, Tom McGuire.A visitation will be held in Jerry's name on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Darlington American Legion (1400 Keep Street, Darlington) from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A Celebration of Jerry's Life will begin at 7:00 P.M. and go until 10:00 P.M. where friends and family can enjoy some of Jerry's favorite things while sharing stories and memories. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jerry's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
