Bryan Brice

Bryan L. Brice, age 52, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. He was born May 3, 1967 to Larry and Doris Brice. Bryan was a 1985 graduate of River Valley High School and received his Associates Degree in Natural Resources from Fox Valley Technical College in 1989. He enjoyed a life of employment at Wisconsin Conservation Corp, Sauk County Parks (White Mound) as well as bartending, bouncing, landscaping, small engine repair, and industrial sized printer repair. The last five years, Bryan developed a variety of health issues which lead him to part-time employment, then eventually being disabled due to his back.Bryan met the love of his life, Heidi L. Wieland in 1991 and he held on to his strong feelings for her for many, many years, though she did not figure out her strong feelings for him until years later in 2002. They continued separate lives for the next few years until FINALLY, the meant-to-be soulmates were united in marriage on August 25, 2007 at Walnut Hill Bible Church in Baraboo, WI. Theirs was a love that, if you are lucky enough, is found once in a lifetime. Their love for each other was fierce, deep, unconditional, and never ending.Bryan never had any biological children of his own but treated Kaitlyn and Jacob Wieland as though they were his own. On Sunday, August 19, 2007 the week before their wedding, Bryan and Heidi along with Kaitlyn and Jacob were all baptized together by Walnut Hill Bible Church at Devils Lake. Bryan and Heidi loved to follow Kaitlyn and Jacob to various places to see their performances/competitions for show choir, plays, and marching bands. One of the greatest joys in Bryan's life was when he and Heidi walked their daughter down the aisle to her groom, Chris, on June 2, 2018. Later that night, Bryan melted when he danced the Father/Daughter Dance with his daughter.Another love in Bryan's life was their beloved beagle, Shiloh. He was clearly a daddy's boy and loved his daddy immensely. Bryan loved to sit outside with Shiloh and enjoy nature. Shiloh loved to go for rides with his daddy in the truck to go see all the "moo moo's and nay nay's."Bryan and Heidi took pride in the two homes they once owned together. They enjoyed landscaping, interior decorating, and updating their homes. The first home they sold was on the market for one day and they accepted an offer. The second home they sold took a bit longer, it was on the market for two days before they accepted an offer. Landscaping was a huge passion of Bryan's.Bryan was preceded in death by his parents: Larry and Doris Brice; all of his grandparents; and many uncles and aunts; and several cousins.Bryan is survived by the love of his life: Heidi (aka: Baby) Wieland-Brice; his daughter: Kaitlyn (Chris) Wieland-Bohl; his son: Jacob Wieland; his future grandson: Mathew John; two sisters: Brenda (Dan) Cummins and Lori (Dale Straub) Brice; one brother: John (Robinn) Leuenberger; his step-father: Dennis Crowley; his father and mother-in-law: Raymond and Jean Wieland; a brother-in-law: Chris Wieland; two sisters-in-law: Kathi (Kelly) Knowles and Melissa Wieland-Bruyere; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.A visitation will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington) immediately followed by a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. where cousin Rev. Kim Peterson will officiate. A luncheon will be provided immediately following the service at Darlington United Methodist Church (546 Park Place, Darlington).
