Zola Blaser

Zola C. Blaser age 100, of Darlington, WI, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020, at the Lafayette County Manor in Darlington. She was born May 27, 1919 in Wiota Township in Lafayette County, WI, the daughter of James and Lula (McConnell) Ray. Zola lived in the Darlington area all of her life. Zola was united in marriage to Harry Blaser on December 30, 1939 in Lodi, WI. She worked at Micro Switch in Warren, IL, as an Adjuster of Honeywell Micro Switches for 15 and a half years. Zola later worked as a Nurse's Assistant at the Lafayette Manor in Darlington for 14 years, retiring in 1984.Zola is survived by one son: Ronald (Joan) Blaser of Darlington; one daughter-in-law: Janayne (Leo) Spellman of Darlington; her grandchildren: Staci Brecklin, Adam Blaser, Josh (Katie) Blaser, Savannah (Brian) Maurer, and Tabitha (David) Cumpian; her great-grandchildren; Landon Blaser, Maddy Corley, Zeva Blaser, Thomas Blaser, Bryce, Owen, Brooks Maurer, and Quinn and Lily Cumpian; and one special nephew: Gary Mosley. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harry on July 12, 1995; two sons: James Blaser on November 13, 1982 and Thomas Blaser on July 7, 2010; and two granddaughters: Jami Blaser in 1991 and Dulcey Blaser in 1996; and four sisters: Bertha Saunders, Gladys Hill, Ann Smith, and Eleanor Olson. Five Brothers-in-law: Ruben Riley, Tom Saunders, Donald Hill, Howard Smith and Dar Olson.Zola was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington and its Women's Guild. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards - especially euchre, hand & foot, Pinochle and canasta, and always loved to dance. She cherished the time she spent with her family creating memories they will all remember forever. Zola will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 11:30 A.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ (339 East Louisa Street, Darlington) with Rev. Barbara Brakey officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:15 A.M. at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
