Marilyn Erickson

Marilyn Joan (Wang) Erickson age 91of Phoenix, AZ formerly of Argyle, WI passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in Phoenix. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 29, 1928, the daughter of Reverend Walter and Elenore (Pederson) Wang. Though Marilyn grew up in Minneapolis she often spent summers in Wiota, WI with her cousin Phyllis (Wang) Watkins. She married Truman Erickson of Argyle on September 24, 1953 in Minneapolis. After living in Florida and Arizona while Truman served in the U. S. Air Force they became long-time residents of Argyle. In 1964, they relocated to Phoenix, AZ. Marilyn worked many positions in her lifetime as secretary, bank teller and prep cook. Marilyn was a talented seamstress, crafter and knitter. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and Christmas was filled with Norwegian goodies. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband: Truman on December 27, 1972; her parents and one sister: Audrey Roufs. She is survived by her three children: Vicki Gates of Peoria, AZ, David Erickson of Mesa, AZ and Kristine (Jim) McNeill of British Columbia, Canada; seven grandchildren: Joshua and Walker Gates, Allessa (Kyle) Coffey and James (Shannon), Wesley, Shelby and Heather McNeill; and six great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Erickson Funeral Home (801 E. Milwaukee Street, Argyle, WI 53504) with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman of Argyle Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle. A visitation be held on Friday from 9:30 until time of services at the funeral home.
