I'm so sorry to hear of this tragic accident. He will be sadly missed.

Slade always lit up my heart when he was an elementary student at Pecatonica. His twinkling eyes and spirited soul were a treasure. My deepest sympathy...My heart aches for all of you. Ms. Disch

Slade was a one-of-a-kind kid! He could always make us smile! Listening to him telling stories was always an event and we cherish all the memories that we have with him. Whether it be him telling us about his baseball career with no strike-outs or his adventures, it was always entertaining. Dave and I loved when Cole's buddies came over. They are such a great bunch of boys! Slade could always talk us into getting them pizza or taking them to a movie. I think of all the times the boys came over, our favorite stories always involved Slade. One of our all time favorite is the night that Bailey had had enough. The boys were down in the basement talking and laughing, LATE into the night, and Slade's voice was definitely the loudest. We listened to those boys telling stories, so so funny, but then I guess it was just getting to be too much for Bailey, who at that time, hardly said boo and was so quiet, went to the stairway and yelled, "Shut up". We laughed so hard, and still do to this day. It's memories like these that make us smile! We will cherish all the memories and will never forget his smile, his love for life, and his kind heart! Slade loved to have fun, and he was also the kindest kid. He never would pass you by, always had time stop and talk and I think that will be his legacy.
