David Ostby

David L. Ostby age 69, of Argyle, WI passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Aster Assisted Living in Monroe. He was born April 30, 1951 in Dodgeville, WI the son of Magne and Lenore (Gilbertson) Ostby. At the age of 7 David's mother, Lenore, passed away and his father was unable to care for him so he moved in with the Jerome and Marian Tollakson family. He was a lifelong Argyle resident, graduating from high school in 1969. David worked for Argyle Industries for many years, then as a feed mill operator and delivery driver for FS Ag Service until illness forced his retirement. David is survived by his special friends: Jerome Tollakson, Lenny Tollakson, Kurt (Theresa) Tollakson and their children: Thomas and Rachel; Steve Tollakson, Todd Tollakson, and Robert(Bud)Schmid; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Ostby of Monticello, WI, and Beverly Ostby of Evansville, WI; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: LaVerne (Sonny) Ostby, Robert Ostby, and Donald Ostby. David was a member of Argyle Rod & Gun Club, Tri-County Bear Hunters, Wisconsin Bear Hunting Association, and many other outdoor organizations. He was an avid bear hunter but also loved to hunt coon and deer. David also loved to take fishing trips to Canada over the years. David enjoyed talking and spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. A Celebration of David's Life will be held at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
