Obituary
Jeanie L. Gille, age 85 of rural Darlington, WI passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville, WI. She was born June 23, 1935 in Truman, WI the daughter of John and Alvina (Heying) McDermott. Jeanie was raised in Truman and graduated from Darlington High School. She was united in marriage to LaVerne "Pug" E. Gille on August 1, 1953 in Truman. Jeanie is survived by son: Michael (Kim) Gille of Darlington; grandchildren: Ryan (Heidi) Gille, Ashley Gille, Cole and Kyle Gille; and two great-grandchildren: Taggart and Mila Gille; one brother: Paul (Marsha) McDermott; and one sister: Bernadette Boyle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, LaVerne "Pug" Gille, and their children: Nancy Gille, Thomas Gille, and Patricia Gille; her mother and father-in-law: Ed and Faye Gille; and her siblings: Alice Mader, Joe McDermott, and Virginia Schunk. Jeanie was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. She loved to play golf and cards and always enjoyed going to the casino with her family and friends. Jeanie cherished her family, especially her grandchildren more then anything else in the world. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. In accordance to Jeanie's wishes, a graveside service will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Cemetery with Rev. Joji Reddy of Holy Rosary Catholic Church officiating. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. For those who prefer, a memorial fund has been established in Jeanie's name. Due to Wisconsin State Mandate, masks are required to be worn throughout your visit inside the funeral home and that you practice proper social distancing guidelines.
