He was born September 27, 1958, at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, WI the son of Wayne and Mary (Cavanaugh) Johnson. Sheldon was raised in Fayette Township in Lafayette County until 1967 when he and his family moved to rural Hollandale, WI where they farmed until moving into the village of Hollandale. Following his high school graduation from Pecatonica High School, Blanchardville, WI he began his trucking career hauling various items until he purchased his own truck in 1995. Sheldon proudly drove truck Semi's for 45 years. Every summer Sheldon and Marc would take trips trucking across the country. By 2005 they visited all 48 states in the mainland United States. When he wasn't trucking, Sheldon loved to ride his motorcycle. It gave him a chance to visit the places that he couldn't stop while on his truck route. He had a passion for anything with an engine. You could commonly find him at stock car races or antique tractor pulling events. He cherished the time he spent with his family creating memories they will all remember forever. My wife Linda and our family send our love and prayers and deepest sympathy to your family in this time of your sorrow. The world has lost a very great man!!! He was a very good friend to me and my family . Always there to help whenever he could or however he could. Always there with a quick-witted one liner that he was so famous for to bring a smile to my face and especially if I was having a bad day. Sheldon and I have done a lot together over the 40 plus years I've known him. We've cut wood, turn ed wrenches, drove a lot of miles together, had a lot of laughs, and even had a few beers together. I truly miss already.!!! We used to talk on the phone every day. Since I have retired after over 40 plus years of driving myself, Sheldon kept me posted on what was happening on the road. Some times I could help him pass the time go by so his trip was not so boring. I feel privileged to have the honor of knowing this great man!!!
